While this is an interesting plug in, it does need serious enhancement to make it viable to what is already out there for this.
Images would be the first big step.

I have deactivated the software shop wordpress plugin on my site because you are overwriting my meta titles for the posts. If you can let me know how to remove this part of your plugin, I will reactivate the store.

Thank you. New version has been published that fixes some issues mentioned by John and I found some other bugs.
Is it possible to make the software catalog searchable? Either from a custom search box in the plug in or from the WP Search Box.
Regnow.com doesn’t provide us with exact search feature in its data feed but there is something like “by keyword filtering” available so probably it can be done this way. I’ll test it and if it will return accurate results I can implement it later.
Maybe is possible to port the Regnow categories into WP categories, use wp_list_categories(), and add products as posts in the appropriate categories, then wp_searchbox() could find them. I know, not so simple, but thanks for all your hard work.
Your latest update fixed the overwriting of post meta titles with the softstore title but now meta titles are not showing up at all on my site when the plugin is activited.

I just installed the plugin and it looks amazing, however when I click any category e.g: mysite.com/softshop/category/12 I get a redirection to: mysite.com/softshop and it’s not possible to go inside that category.

OK. Plugin installed. Passed all installation tests. Message says “You Should Be Able To use This Plugin” But how do you use it? I see nothing anywhere in my WordPress dashboard that gives a clue on how to use this plugin.

Hi, I installed the plugin and have the SoftShop Page with all the main catagories but I get a page not found error whenever I click on any Softshop catagory. Looking at my server, the directories have not been created. I don’t have /softshop/
Also it seem slioke the default affiliate ID doesn’t change. It looks like it changes in the Plugin control panel, but the php source still looks like it has the default Affiliate ID
Hi I have been using this plugin without errors or issues for months now and it has been great !
However recently I now get this error message and it will not show any items in a category ;

After installing and configuring the plugin it automatically create the page on your blog named”softshop”

i have encountered the following errors
Products page displays nothing
products page doesn’t redirects to sales page
No more products page customization exists( display,featured and etc)

However, it doesn’t seem to working
on my site. What’s wrong it? Do I need to do more than upload it and activate it? To this test it, I clicked on the links to see where they would take me. They took me to the home page of my blog.

I already intalled it, I have the header link which says products that go to all the software category page, and Im already enrolled in RegNow. I got already some products approved to sell as a test. But when I go to a category, I only see the buy now links, but no product listed. Could you guide me through this? Thanks.

Fix to the “Permissions Error” on WordPress 3:
The url in the Config/Software Shop link is wrong. When you get the error go to the url pane in your browser the link will look like this:
wp-admin/options-general.php?page=SoftwareShop
You need to put a space into SoftwareShop so it looks like this:
wp-admin/options-general.php?page=Software Shop
And then load the url again, that should do it.
It’s been a year since Csaba has last been commenting on this post, don’t know if he’s been by, but if he does check it, could we get a peep if you are working on this or have dropped it?
I have a clean install of WP 3.0.1 (Latest at this time) and installed your plugin.
When I click a category it dosent work.
To those getting this error:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
You need to access setup page via wordpress > plugin > software shop > settings.
NOT via WP admin sidebar setting!
Hope I made myself clear.
How to use it, or how to add a software to blog after setting finished ?

If you spend some time on this and get it right, I am sure a bunch of us would pay for the plug in.. but right now it’s useless..in the real sense of the word as I and a few that have posted are getting error messages when trying to use and/or activate.
Please let me know if you get things up and running. Could be a great product!
This would be an awesome plugin if it worked at all. I get the category listings but when I click on any category it just opens a page with no content.
If you are going to build a page dedicated to the plugin that you made, then you should at least update it once in a while.

You’ll see a link for SoftShop in the top menu bar. Clicking that link opens a directory of categories, but clicking on a category link reverts to the home page… cat not found.
