As you probably don’t know if you don’t know me personally, I’m not much of a coder. Sure, I wrote some code here and then, but those days are long gone. Considering this, I guess it’s obvious why I love so much tools like DaDaBIK…
… but what is this DaDaBIK thingie, after all? According to the official mumbo-jumbo, “DaDaBIK is a very popular and mature Open Source PHP application which allows you to easily create a highly customizable database front-end/application without coding.” In case you think this is another obscure open source project, just think about the fact that the University of Cambridge used DaDaBIK for the World Oral Literature Project. Now, that doesn’t sound like an obscure project anymore, don’t you think?
DaDaBIK works great with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle + MS SQL Server, offering a pretty rich set of features, including master/details view, file uploading, CSV export or email notices. With support for over 10 languages, DaDaBIK can surely be a useful helper to the lazy developer… and maybe even to the ones who are not lazy, but look for a quick solution for creating a CRUD (create-read-update-delete) application! 😉
