“Ta-taaaa! You got mail!” What if your mail client could speak? I guess that’s how it should let you know that there’s something new in your inbox… or at least that’s how I think T-dah got its name… but let’s take a closer look at this T-dah thing, shall we?
Before we move on, just a little confession – my favorite webmail application is (was?!?) RoundCube, but I was shocked to see that T-dah is better from a lot of points of view, maybe less the part that it has some features I never use, like the calendar or chat.
This free webmail app is built from the notorious Uebimiau script and PHP-powered, offering a nice interface, and having no special requirements, not even a database! The consequence? T-dah can be setup in only a few minutes, as long as you have a PHP 4 or 5 capable server at your disposal, of course!
As you probably imagined already, T-dah uses the POP3 protocol, but can also be configured to take advantage of PHP mail, SMTP, Sendmail or Qmail, when it comes to sending out your messages.
Additional features include group chat and an event calendar that I already mentioned, as well as folder management and the address book. No surprises here, after all… but if you want to try before bothering to put it on your server, you can check the demo here(try “demo” as user/pass). Enjoy! 😉
Compatibility: all major browsers? Of course!
